Not sure how much better her lane positioning should be. It's the rule around here that the merging vehicle must give way to the traffic already beside them. Car driver was not paying attention.

When riding on multi-lane divided interstate highways, the safest lane to ride is the far left lane. The far right lane is subject to vehicle constantly merging on to the highway and other vehicles exiting as the video shows.
