Car Explodes on I-95, Pompano Beach, Florida
A sedan erupted into flames and exploded Friday on Interstate in South Florida, shutting down all northbound lanes. The incident happened just after 1:30 p.m. near Copans Road in Pompano Beach. The driver was able to escape the vehicle before it caught fire and no one was injured, a spokesperson for FHP said. It’s not clear what caused the car to burst into flames. |

That's a fuel fire. There's a stream of burning fuel on the road. I don't think an ordinary gas tank is going to do that, so my question would be: WTF were they carrying in that car?!?!

It could have been ruptured and leaking before catching fire. Why wouldn’t a normal gas tank explode like that!?! It seems very possible to me.  |
