It was plainly the fault of the red car. The speeding car was slowing for traffic and had more than enough space had it not been for "me first" and his lane change with NO signal.

You don't expect incoming traffic when all around you are at a virtual standstill! But, he should have had a real good look in his mirror first.

Both suck, but I would argue the speeder is worse. Situational awareness... If you're going 40mph faster than the cars around you, unless it's the Autobahn, you're probably wrong. Expect stupid people on freeways at all times.
