I wouldn't exactly go as far as to call the semi trailer driver a hero. He put his foot on the brake. I think it's the least he could do in that situation, especially since there was a human being hurtling towards him.

I, for one, am glad that all of them got out alive, including the dog. It's the dog's owners that deserve a good kicking for letting their dog run around when they live right next to a main road.
