That's the danger of Lane splitting. The bike was riding right down the middle of the road probably thinking he was going to pass stop traffic on the left but this car was clearly turning left.

Look at the biker's riding early on, just as he comes into view. He was riding carelessly from the start. Also should have thought to himself "Hey, why is that car stopped in the lane like that? What's he going to do?" but was riding too fast to finish that thought. |
