It looks like a perfect storm thing, where they were in the process of resurfacing the road, and he bumped the truck just when his wheel got into a rut. I'll bet he is/was one of those bikers who comes up the middle in traffic jams.

yeah i'm thinking the bad road surface pulled him in. whatever happened, it's damn lucky he didn't get squished. i will never figure out why people ride motorcycles when there is an invention called "the car".  |

As a motorbike instructor he was heading for the truck from the start, he could have been looking at the truck "target fixation, you hit what your looking at, he should have been riding in the "sump" part of the road, between the ruts left by cars and trucks, if you are not a bike rider you wouldn't understand the joy of riding,,,, safely..

I understand the inherent joy of riding, I really do. I just believe the costs of sharing the road with idiots is greater than said joy. Plus common sense regarding mortality rates once....you know. However, who rides in between the sumps? We have some shit roads in US (all of it), but riding where the oil lies is stupid. |
