He entered the curve on a motorcycle that had the capability to complete the turn, and tires that would allow him to maintain traction throughout; the variable here were his skill set and confidence. The moment a rider begins to doubt the turn can be made, they abandon all hope of making the turn and try to find a soft place to land. This rider judged poorly.
