There always has to be a vehicle right there.  And JFC is it that fucking difficult to check you’re clear to open your vehicle door...into the path of traffic? Even if the only reason you do it is bec you don’t want a car speeding by and costing you money to pay for the damage.   Poor man just fucking killed because a dumb fuck couldn’t be bothered. |

As a cyclist myself its also dumb to not see this comming.. Always pay good attention to cars that you just saw parking.. Happens so often they don't look and slam the door open out of the blue  |

Happened to me.. my reflex is not avoiding the door (if fail could be fatal) so just go inside the door, it's hurt verymuch but better than runned over by car/truck and also make car owner deserve the broken door and shattered window glass...

16-03. A motorist knocks down a cyclist when opening the vehicle door. After falling, the man of 78 years is hit in the head by a vehicle of transport of people, that does not stop. The man was rescued in a serious condition and sent to a hospital on duty, where he remains hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit. According to the latest information his state remains unchanged and the Civil Police must investigate the accident. |
