This happened on the 9th of July 2016. The guys name is Magomed Nurbagandov and he was a Dagestani cop.

He and a few of his relatives were chilling on a picnic in the woods. 5 armed men approached their tents and woke them up with insults. After a quick verbal brawl, they shot Magomed's cousin who stepped in to protect his teenage brother whom one of the armed guys kicked. Aftermath:
On the 21-st of september 2016, by Putin's presidential decree, Magomed was awarded the title "Russian Federation Hero" for his bravery while on duty.

On the 16-th of august 2017, Dagestani Supreme Court sentenced Aziz Djamaludinov to a sentence of 17 years in a maximum security prison, 100k rubles fine + 2 years of restriction of liberty.
On the 3-rd of october 2017 North Caucasian military court sentenced Artur Bekbolatov (the one who films the murder) to 24 years in a maximum security prison + 2 years of restriction of liberty. Soon, the judicial chamber of Russian Federation's supreme court changed Artur Bekbolatov's sentences to a life sentence.
The other participants of the killings were annihilated in a special operation provided by FSB in september 2016.

Coming from Russia the information is probably half true. Russia like to make its police or military deaths more glamorous than they happened.

Like in this case, why would the guy say resign to his fellow officers in the video, then say the opposite in the supposed unedited portion? Makes no sense.

My favorite one was when a really famous soldier of theirs was "surrounded " by isis. And he radioed in to air support to bomb his location.

Again, makes no sense. If they had air support above, why wouldn't they bomb all around his location? And try to miss him, but if he gets hit, he gets hit. But no, they tell everyone he called in the airstrike on his exact location. Making him basically a god to the Russian people.

I bet anything it didn't happen that way.

Below is what the Russians said happened. Its bullshitted enough to make even Rambo proud.

But with this militia guy there was the reason to ask. You do not work for Russia, simple. It’s a common question. If you are Chechen or Dagestanian or w/e and work for Russia, you are disgrace to your own people ( that’s how radicals from those regions think).

In US military to call air strike on your own position called “ broken arrow” I think?
