Re: Worker Killed After Being Caught in Machinery (Russian Lathe Accident)
Great update with the added pics! This was the most gruesome death-by-The-Mangler video I ever saw on DR and it's nice to see it close-up in photos |

Re: Worker Killed After Being Caught in Machinery (Russian Lathe Accident)
Looked like he was leaning over to clean some shit out of the way. Where I used to work three people had bad accidents cleaning stuff out of the way while the machines were on. One got pulled into rollers up to his armpit. Paramedics and an emergency trauma surgeon wanted to amputate it on the spot to get him out but he refused to let them do it. The fire brigade and our technical staff had to get him out eventually. He still lost most of his arm. The company director was a right wuss, he fainted when he saw it and had to be tended to by one of the first aiders.

Re: Worker Killed After Being Caught in Machinery (Russian Lathe Accident)
That is one of the most hardcore people I have heard about. Guys arm is interspersed with machinery and he is conscious, and insists on keeping his arm! My mom's like that, 94 and stage 4 breast cancer she fought off all the doctors that insisted on chopping it off, one of many reasons she is still alive (and my excellent use of healthy take out food)... |
