Re: Worker Jumps into a Steel Melting Furnace

Molten metal is scary hot. The determination (courage?) some of the suicidal people have on Documenting Reality is impressive. Putting your head on the tracks to be severed by a freight train and jumping into a blast furnace, count me out...
I'll drink the Koolaid like Jonestown, Guyana or the Heavens Gate cults if I was going to self terminate

Re: Worker Jumps into a Steel Melting Furnace

Moisture in flesh would have exploded in a milliseconds. The body would be cooked before reached the steel liquid.

Re: Worker Jumps into a Steel Melting Furnace

i wonder how long he/she was conscious? half a second? five seconds...? 20? i'm guessing the body would have remained laying right on the surface, as the liquid metal is much denser...it wouldn't be like jumping into a swimming pool.
It would have been instantaneous. See those sparks coming out? Those are from the carbon in that human body binding with the offgassed 02 to form CO2. The big rush of flame is from the fats, and beneath that flame you can see green and blue from the oxidizing phosphorus and calcium. The entire body disintegrated not just from the heat but from the chemical reactions of organic matter meeting hot molten iron. He was literally pulled apart atom by molecule.
