This is not a press, its a "die-caster" that's the dies going together before the molten metal gets injected in, you can see a casting on the table, i used to work in a casting factory, not unusual for the switches to mess up and the doors to jam, thats why he was blowing it clean, in the second video you can see him swabbing the dies with lubricant (graphite grease), not good to get anything squat in there anyway!

Well that sucks. It didn't look like he had his hands on anything which would have activated the machine, so I don't think it was his fault. Maybe he did and I just couldn't see it. Looks like the machine could tell something was jammed up because the light came on briefly and the press reversed, allowing him to fall out.

I've seen some pieces of equipment like this which require two-handed activation or the controls are far enough away so things such as this cannot happen.
