You obviously have no idea what you are talking about. I absolutely abhor apartments like that also, but my place had a similar setup to this when I lived in China except it was very thick plastic blocking the outside. It was a very nice place (with a high price tag to match), but all units had this “safety” barrier. All I could do is pray nothing happened, but being on the 10th floor, if something did happen, it would be which way do I want to die today; fall to my death or the flames. |

I was thinking about it. Couldn't you modify it yourself when you move in? Not according to rules, but maybe if you replaced the bolts with some type of clips, or filed through the cage parts to make a weak spot you could bust through? Well, I know you could do it, but does anyone try? Does someone come into your place and look at shit ever? |

Dr Thrumpkinz - I don’t know about India as I only visited for a few weeks, but never lived there. I would assume it’s the same as China though which is to say you don’t ever want to give the landlord a reason to charge you for anything. Because they will inflate everything greatly and if you are a foreigner, it’s going to be triple! Don’t pay and off to jail you go and I’m sure you’ve seen how horrible jail conditions are in other third world countries on different threads here. I would never ever want to be caught dead in one in China, but especially not in India. That is hands down one of the dirtiest countries I’ve ever been to (no offense to our Indian family here). Very very good food though. |
