I think she was in the shades before they started beating her & edited it in after for reasons of their own. They also gave her an intramuscular injection in those frames, (maybe an anaesthetic of some sort?), but the first edit clearly shows the beating then garroting at which point she dies.
Certainly it's a sad video & the dealers/abusers are cowards but it is true that she must have known this was a possibility.
