Woman Stabs Police Sergeant in the Neck
San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic A sergeant of the National Police attached to the General Directorate of Traffic Safety and Land Transport (Digesett) was stabbed in the neck by a woman and died on Friday after an argument over the payment of a motoconcho (a motorcycle taxi used for public transport). The victim was identified as A.S.M., 30, who was assaulted by Y.S., aged around 26, after arguing because the police officer was demanding payment from the woman for a motorbike transport that she refused to pay for. The authorities report that after being injured, A. drove his motorbike away from the scene, but collapsed a few metres from where the incident took place. The aggressor was arrested minutes after the incident by police officers as she tried to flee. |
