So she had no responsibility to be aware and alert of her surroundings?   It's a truck, not a car, driver did not realize there was someone right behind them, no way he could have seen her in his mirrors. But it is also the drivers fault for not having the passenger get out and direct the truck driver. But if a truck is on, you can easily hear it. Most trucks also have that loud beeping sound that tells everyone a truck/bus is backing up. When I have to pass by a truck, I listen, look, give a wide berth as I walk/bike by. |

It took place in Russia. Have you seen all those Russian car accident videos? 60% of truck drivers there don't care who's on the road and don't even mention the safety factors that should be in place, but aren't.

Truck driver is 90% to 100% at fault. First of all this is not a road but a parking lot area. There was a shitload of people in the area and the truck driver should have seen that there were many people out there and on notice to beware of pedestrians. Yet, he backs up without looking and several people scurry to get out of his way. He is also backing up at an unsafe speed. Truck driver has to be drunk to be driving like that. Doesn't really matter why the lady did not hear the truck. For all we know she was deaf.
