She’s focused on the other train. That’s why she slows down as she approaches it, because if she kept trotting, she’d reach it too soon to just walk behind it.

So focused that she didn’t think to expect another train. And likely couldn’t hear it due to the train already there.

She had a very very bad blonde moment. 99% of humanity upon turning and seeing the train bearing down on them would have tried to jump out of the way. But she just looked, went "Aaaaah!" and died.
