Re: Woman Executed by Narco Gang
Absolutely not her. She flat-out gives her name in the video and it ain't Karen. She IDs herself as 'Maria Fernanda Garcia Alvarez.' Karen was killed by a different group at a different time and identified herself in her own pre-execution video.

Re: Woman Executed by Narco Gang
I've probably watched the vid about 40 times now and compared it to six other beheading vids looking for comparable body language, sound, etc. After a couple of days to review it carefully I am fairly inclined to opine at this point that the video is real. There are still some red flags, but I feel pretty confidant. The cadence and volume of her screaming changes to the weak and expected gurgle right around 1:57. In some I've seen, that point was reached within seconds, but in others it has taken longer. In this case I think it was likely a combination of a dullish knife and cutting the wrong point. Blood is definitely visible by about 1:57 and was likely just blocked by her hair prior to that. The blood would be easier to detect if the resolution of the vid were higher. It's just tough to get fine detail with all of the artifacts inherent in a low-res phone cam like this. Same thing applies to the urine. Upon my initial viewing or two, I was fairly certain that she never lost bladder control, which would be very odd in a beheading like this. I've never seen a beheading involving a woman where she didn't urinate herself during the process and that sort of reaction would be abundantly expected in one as long and torturous as this. Its absence was very conspicuous to me and cast a lot of doubt on the vid's authenticity. After several people posted here or contacted me specifically and said that they saw urine, I took a few more runs at it and decided I agree. The diffused lighting through the trees and the low resolution made a lot of shifting shadow, but partway through the vid (first especially noticeable right around 1:50 and then strongly again around 2:07 when she thrashes around), there's a clearly obvious dark stain in her crotch and running partway down her right thigh. When she shifts, it moves independently of the tree shadows and the shadows of the two executioners. If we had HD pics to go along with the vid, I think it'd be clear as day. The quality of the camera just makes it a little subtle. But it's there and it is definitive. So between the vocal modulation, cadence, low-res blood obscured by the hair, lack of potential motive for fakery, and peri-mortem bladder evacuation, I'm saying Real Deal on this one. |

Re: Woman Executed by Narco Gang
I´ve seen some beheading videos and besides the already mentioned stuff, I would add that when they stabbed her in the neck I kinda expected a jump or something like that. On other videos, even when the head is almost fully chopped when they hit the neck, the body jumps in a nervous reflex (I guess thats the reason) but she didn´t so I´m gonna say Fake this time.

Re: Woman Executed by Narco Gang
Female executions are exceedingly rare, exceedingly popular, and the video is contentious. This is a DEATH forum, not a GORE forum. Relax.
