Re: Woman, Driving with Family, Screams Before Fatally Hitting Their Kia with Truck
= Oxymoron They didn't stay in control long on that snowy curve. So much to learn from this vid, don't drive fast on snow/ice especially on curves with trucks approaching. If you start to lose traction, better to leave the road than risk a head on collision, even rolling over would be far better than getting bad head. Damn I wish we had evergreen lined highways in Illinois. Flat fucking cornfields here... |

I agree about slower. She lost control because had too much confidence and wasn't self aware about the real danger of crashing at high speed. More unfortunate for her, she crashed with a vehicle coming at opposite direction multiplying speed. The impact had so much force. We gotta be smarter than that! |

Re: Woman, Driving with Family, Screams Before Fatally Hitting Their Kia with Truck
With well over half a century of driving in northern climes, I probably have more miles driving on snow and ice than you have driving on all surfaces combined (unless you are a professional driver). Pay attention. She was driving on snow and ice the whole time, under control until the end. My question is what specific thing or move precipitated her loss of control at the point where she veered off to the right? Perhaps she had a panic moment and hit the brakes too hard (very easy to do) when she saw the oncoming truck?
