She should have had her chicken with her if she was going to cross the road.
Chickens nearly ALWAYS make it across safely.
But maybe her chicken had already crossed, and she was just trying to catch up with it.
Or maybe she told her chicken a "Why did the chicken cross the road?" joke, and her chicken was offended, and refused to guard her as she crossed.
Or maybe she was too poor to afford a chicken.
Or maybe she ate the chicken last night for dinner, and that was why it wasn't around when she tried to cross the road.
All the mysteries of this case, that will NEVER be answered.
The universe is a wonder!
The grim reaper said: "Chicken" day today and she will!
