South Africa, A 31-year old man has been arrested for the murder of 28-year old T. P. from Soweto. She was 8 months pregnant and her body was found stabbed and hanging from a tree in Roodepoort.

The suspect is appearing in the Roodepoort Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

The suspect was arrested while travelling from Mpumalanga. He was apprehended with the help of community members.

His relationship to T.P. is not known at this stage.

The suspect's identity can not be disclosed until he has appeared in court and made a plea.

Probably not. The oxygen from the mother is transferred to the baby by the umbilical cord, so if the mother dies, oxygen to the baby would stop in about five minutes. If the mother had been hanging there awhile, unfortunately it’s a lost cause.

I'm taking a wild guess here, but I reckon the hanging was some sort of attempted cover up at the murder, suggesting she was already dead before being hanged.
