But ‘killing him makes us no better than him’, and ‘serving life in prison is even worse punishment’, or maybe ‘we can’t let the state make life or dead decisions like that’… Not convinced? A 3rd year college student was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital in Don Carlos, Bukidnon after she was mauled and stabbed by her live-in partner during a heated argument inside their house at Purok 9, Poblacion Sur, Don Carlos town at around 3:10pm, March 11, 2023.

Police identified the victim as 22-year old K. A. while the suspect was identified as E. C. J, 27 years old and jobless. He tried to flee but was arrested by responding police. A CCTV footage of the incident trended in social media which outraged many netizens.

Reports revealed that the couple had a heated argument inside their house which led to the suspect stabbing the victim on different parts of her body with the use of broken glass.

The suspect fled the crime scene but was subsequently arrested by elements of Don Carlos Municipal Police Station. Further investigation by police also revealed that the suspect was reportedly a former drug addict who underwent rehab. Allegedly, the argument started when the victim wanted to breastfeed their 9-month old baby but the suspect refused.

Just two days before the incident, the suspect even posted an insiprational song in his Facebook account.
