Makes sense. Although he had deep mental problems, I think he was triggered by the rash of indiscriminate active-mass-homicides in the world.

Looking at this Westfield Mall footage, I was reminded of how similar the Russian Concert Hall attacks were, not by methods, but in terms of easy pickings on unsuspecting victims in a commercial entertainment complex.

Yea possibly. It could also just be the case that women were more vulnerable/less physically responsive to the threat. It's been reported that he was schizophrenic, so maybe there was no rational thought process behind it. I'll be keeping an eye out on any updates though (which will no doubt take months/years to surface).
