S(33), a watermelon seller at Kramat Jati Main Market, East Jakarta, was the victim of an acid attack and was hacked to death, Monday (8/1/2024).

This incident occurred when S was working serving customers at 01.00 WIB. He died after receiving several serious injuries from a sharp weapon in the form of a sickle carried by the perpetrator.

Chronology
I (26), who is the victim's co-worker, said that this incident started when Sutomo was guarding a watermelon stall at night.

He said that the murder was recorded on CCTV installed at the watermelon stall. Suddenly, a man wearing a face covering came to S and poured acid on him.

"I don't know for sure what liquid it is, but it seems like acid. Because the skin of the watermelon is blistered. It looks like the perpetrator has prepared some kind of bottle for it," said I.

The victim was in pain when the perpetrator immediately attacked S blindly, including using a sickle.

"After slashing, the perpetrator ran away." said I.

After the perpetrator fled, other traders helped S to be rushed to Harapan Bunda Hospital. Unfortunately, his life could not be saved, it was thought that he had lost too much blood.

Perpetrator Arrested
Kramat Jati Police Chief Commissioner TA said that his party had succeeded in arresting the perpetrator of the acid attack and hacking with the initials DJ (28).

T said that DJ had fled to a location quite far from the Kramat Jati Main Market after carrying out his action.

“The perpetrator fled to the Pamulang area, South Tangerang. "He hid at his uncle's house," said T.

DJ killed him because the victim was known to have an affair with DJ's wife
