Re: Vietnam: Female Worker Pulled Into Wood Chipper
"Here are images I highlighted in blue that look like the victims eyes bulging out and looking up and down while her lower half is being ground up" Just above your blue circle, there appears to be a power on/off switch? If that's the case, these two split tails missed that important piece of information in the OSHA wood chipper training videos. |

Re: Vietnam: Female Worker Pulled Into Wood Chipper
I knew a clusterfuck-ery would catch a "MILguy"s attention The co-worker attempts to actuate the switch with one hand when the victims waistline is just outside the machine. Victims body slows there for a bit and co-worker tries again with two hands on the control to stop the machine. If the machine stopped when she hit the switch, I think the victim might have just lost her feet / lower legs. As this Vermeer video shows, there is a feed roller first. On the machine that eats our victim, the feed looks maybe 2 to 3 feet wide. Our Vietcong rallier is maybe 5 feet tall, so probably her feet hit the drum and the knives really slowed when they chewed thru those shoes and bony legs. I have never operated one of these things as I value my safety, so just my 0.02 |
