Re: Video of Georgia Man Being Gunned Down While Jogging.
He was trying to rob a house, then ran away. Was seen by the homeowner who tried to detain him until the police arrived - the homewowner called the police. The would-be robber grabbed the gun and did not comply, when he grabbed the gun it was fired and he was shot. He is not a jogger out for a run to his local soup kitchen where he volunteered before taking his grandmother to church. What the law says about citizen's arrest - who knows but the parts leading up to him grabbing the gun and being shot are all bullshit. Does he get to try and rob a house, then just disappear to rob and steal and potentially hurt another innocent family? Law on citizen's arrest should be relevant, and the message is - don't rob families or you may be hurt.

The message should be that armed redneck vigilantes pursuing property crime suspects on the streets is bad.

Re: Video of Georgia Man Being Gunned Down While Jogging.
Looks like 1st degree murder to me. And since I'm extremely bored in quarantine right now, I will call upon my mediocre powers of deduction to point out the obvious by using weak circumstantial evidence. Ambush -The begining of the video shows the truck parked in the road with the driver out of the vehicle preparing his weapon out of view from the approaching runner. Confirming the story that they chased the guy down. Fight or flight? - The victim is shown running towards the driver initially, but changes direction when he got close to the truck, he probably saw the gun at that point. - The victim, understanding that he isn't going to get away on foot, attacks the driver in a futile attempt to gain control of the gun. - Words are exchanged and you can hear someone say "fuck you" before the 2nd shot is fired. Premeditation - The man standing on the truck bed is seen attempting to adjust something on his face (probably a bandana), while facing away from the victim and conveniently, the camera. - The drivers face was also concealed. It's important to note this happened in February when people in the US weren't wearing facemasks like that) - After the first shot goes out, the truck bed guy is shown trying to quickly retrieve something that was on him (probably the gun that is later seen in his hands) The Cameraman - He knew something was about to go down. He angled the camera right where the runner was going to be before he was even visible. - He first appears to try to park on the side of the road, but turns his car towards the victim at the last moment, probably to cut him off. - He makes no effort to conceal the phone from the gunmen while recording. Would you stop your car in the middle of the road, in front of 2 armed men, who just shot someone in broad daylight only a couple car lengths in front of you, and have your phone out recording the whole time?...Only way I'd feel comfortable doing that is if I knew the gunmen personally. - You can hear him unbuckle his seatbelt before coming to a stop. Why would he do that? Tldr - This was premeditated murder. - I have way too much time on my hands. - The father, son, and cameraman were in on it. - If someone is trying to perform a citizen's arrest on you, and they have a gun, dont rush that person, just wait for the cops (unless its Brazil. If this happens to you there, you're pretty much fucked regardless so you might as well fight). |

Re: Video of Georgia Man Being Gunned Down While Jogging.
There is only a question of citizen's arrest here and whether the men acted unlawfully. There is no premeditated murder. 1. He was not out jogging. Bullshit. He was peering into houses and then running away when he was seen. Is there any evidence of any kind that he ever went out for jogs, joined a running club or even ran a race ever? None presented. And those were running shorts hanging down by his knees. 2. His shoplifting conviction is absolutely relevant. There is the one time we know of that he was caught stealing from who knows how many attempts or successes. A former thief (confirmed) peering into windows, going inside unoccupied homes, looking for stuff to steal. Why else would he be going in and out of houses that he didn't live in or know anyone in? Do you do that? 3. What possible motive would these men have to gun him down? They wanted to ask him about the robberies. He acted suspiciously, was running away, then violently went for the gun. How would you have behaved in that situation? Running away, acting violent, knowing they were armed? Remaining calm or waiting for the police, if he were innocent he could have filed civil action against them. Easy. His actions were 100% in line with someone who was out stealing. 4. Did he have a job. Did he have any income? Did he do anything at all with his time during the day except mill about looking to steal? No evidence has been offered to the contrary. 5. These men may have acted unlawful but only in the context of citizens arrest. Tired of everyone being stolen from they tried to ask a question of a suspect running away from a crime. If that is a crime, they should be held accountable. Its not about anything other than that. The video shows exactly what happened including the violence that the suspect initiated. These men will get cancelled. It will be made about race. Gentle giant, blah blah. The end was written before it even began. |

Re: Video of Georgia Man Being Gunned Down While Jogging.
Where are you getting your information from because none of it is even remotely true. No one called the police on the jogger, the jogger had no reason to comply, there was no officer around. You not only didn't watch it but came up with a stupid synopsis of what happened. |

So many assumptions, post some proof of your claims. You don't have any proof because all you are posting is your opinion, and like an asshole, everyone has one.

Yeah, racist tend to do that. If his first synopsis doesn't work, he'll start quoting bible verses claiming Jesus wanted the jogger shot.

Re: Video of Georgia Man Being Gunned Down While Jogging.
https://thebrunswicknews.com/news/lo...a763095b3.html The shooter is a retired cop and retired detective for county DA. 37 total years on the job. That many decades of police work counts for something. That "incident" in high school for the "victim"? "Arbery was arrested in December of 2012 by Glynn County Schools Police for bringing a handgun into the Brunswick High gymnasium during a basketball game. When an officer spotted the .380 caliber handgun in his waistband, the then 19-year-old Arbery attempted to flee. Arbery was sentenced to five years’ probation as a first offender on charges of carrying a weapon on campus and several counts of obstructing a law enforcement officer." Also in regards: "On the day of the shooting, supposedly moments before the chase, a resident of Satilla Shores dialed 911, telling the dispatcher that a Black man in a white T-shirt was inside a house that was under construction and only partially closed in. “And he’s running right now,” the guy told the dispatcher. “There he goes right now!” The former prosecutor, Barnhill, also brought up Arbery’s past record to the cops. Court documents show that he was convicted of shoplifting and of violating probation in 2018. Five years earlier, Arbery was also indicted on accusations that he took a handgun to a high school basketball game, according to The Brunswick News." |
