Yeah, you can fact-check me but I call BS on this one. I'm pretty sure this is an embellishment (lie) perpetuated by the infamous "MrBallen" for his content channels. In 1990, China barely had the technical ability to connect a long distance phone call. I'm very skeptical that they had VCR's or camcorders readily available to the middle class. I've read several accounts of the investigation from original Chinese articles published on the subject. There are numerous inconsistencies between actual events reported by police and the stories floating around online. There was never any mention of VHS video tapes or even motion-film footage by the original parties to the investigation. There are a couple of questionable crime scene photos around but they don't reveal anything and can't be authenticated.

I think that might be one for the missing media list. There are several photos online of Hugo Hernandez cut into pieces in the middle of a road. His face was found attached to the futbol (soccer) by police and located inside a plastic bag in front of the Los Mochis city hall. A local prosecutor mentioned to the media that he looked at the photo, so it did exist. Although I've read about one person claiming to see the photo online, it's currently no where to be found. I even checked the archives of Rotten and Ogrish. Since it happened in 2010, it just might be lost to the annals of time. Hopefully it'll bounce back someday.
