Victims of the Russian Georgian Conflict

Story:The Georgia–Russia crisis is a current and ongoing international crisis between Georgia and Russia that escalated in 2008, when both countries accused each other of military buildup near the separatist regions Abkhazia and South Ossetia. On March 6, 2008 Russia announced that it would no longer participate in the Commonwealth of Independent States economic sanctions imposed on Abkhazia in 1996.
Increasing tensions led to the outbreak of the 2008 South Ossetia war. After the war, a number of incidents have occurred in both conflict zones, and tensions between the belligerents remain high. The crisis has been linked to the push for Georgia to receive a NATO Membership Action Plan and, indirectly, the unilateral declaration of independence by Kosovo.

Re: Victims of the Russian Georgian Conflict

One has to ask how long will the human race last? We are slowly distroying the only planet we have - pollution, mining, cutting down trees etc. One day there will be nothing left to mine..... Population is increasing rapidly, it will never stop, people are living longer - the world can only support a certain number of people with food and clean water. More and more houses are being built, but we can't make more land to build them on - eventually all the land will be taken up and then what? constant wars and famine, it will never end, we will never all 'get along' and innoncent people will continue to die

Agree totally. I am not religious at all. Never have been. But I had a mother who switched religions like others switch boyfriends. I have to say though what sticks in my mind is her telling me about the 'revelations' in the bible that I read years and years ago that speak of war, famine, people destroying each other etc, nature going crazy, earthquakes, tsunami's...volcanoes erupting...and it's all happening right now.

We for sure are going to wipe ourselves and the planet out. We are pretty much 3/4 of the way there I think.
