That stretch of HWY is pretty much a racetrack for the locals. This fellow prob didn't know the road very well. When you come out of a tunnel, you're going from dark to very bright. You literraly can't see what's ahead of you.

Mix that with speed, and a decreasing turn radius, the moment he dropped a wheel into the dirt, it was game over. Understeer right into the wall.

Don't hoon on roads you don't know, never out of a tunnel, never over a blind crest or cross a double yellow.

Slow in, fast out. Fast in, out maybe.

These cars goat you into overconfidence with the amount of grip they have. Then, when you get in trouble, human nature says slam on the brakes in the corner, making it worse.

When poeple feel they're not going to make the corner, their instinct is to turn the wheel more. The front wheels are already overloaded, turning it more overloads it even more. Now add on the brakes that are pinned to the floor....

You go straight into the wall with you steering wheel fully locked and your foot still slammed on the brakes.

Getting out of trouble with these cars is counterintuitive, lots of people die this way.
