Re: USA - Dallas Youth Football Coach Executed On Field
This is the only segment of your comment that concerns me, the rest is for the justice system and Uncle Sam to sort out. Sure, there might be a few rotten apples within the ranks of BLM; show me an organization that DOESN'T have any Twisting of facts and releasing fabrications? Maybe, but the important thing at the time was to marshal the troops in order to issue a resounding rebuke to law enforcement's casual applications of lethal force. The successful resolution of that troubled time was the widespread adoption of the body cam among police. Cops tread very carefully nowadays, now that their every move is on video. They can no longer shoot people dead over the slightest provocation. As far as I'm concerned, BLM succeeded in their mission, and if they made a few bucks on the side, more power to them |

Re: USA - Dallas Youth Football Coach Executed On Field
Oh, sweet summer child, how delusional you are. I’m married to a fucking cop. Federal, at that. How many times has he had to pull his weapon in almost 30 years on the job? Once. Only once, because a woman tried to mow him down with her car……dare I say she was a POC and he is white. He sustained major injuries that have required surgeries over the years. Over 20 officers from 4 separate branches had to take this bitch in. Do I care what color she is? No. I care that she tried to kill my husband because she didn’t want her goddamn car towed for an expired registration. Expired over a year and this c*nt worked for a friggin member of Congress (yeah, that kind of federal). Did he care what color she was? No, because he ran her plates before he even saw her and had the tow truck on the way. That didn’t stop her from trying to play the race card to get off. Thank the gods that didn’t work. BTW, his partner was black. James was the best partner he could have had and testified against this bitch. RIP James. Resolution: my husband got fucked by the hood and roof of a car, while that bitch got a slap on the hand. She never did pay restitution. That’s okay, because she lost her cushy Congressional secretarial job and pension. He was also contacted about a year later that she was trying to get another federal position, but her record showed his name as a victim. He just told them that he was more than willing to send a copy of the court records, showing the incident report, arrest report and trial docs. She didn’t get the job. Before you lump ALL law enforcement officers into one group, remember that there are bad apples in every subpopulation in the world. Are there bad cops? Yes. Are there bad doctors? Yes. Are there bad people who are so entitled that they bring a gun to a football game intended for children? Yes. My husband is a damn fine man and even better cop. He served as an FTO and took his job seriously. He is a by-the-book man. Obey the law and he is cool with you. Hell, he didn’t even bad mouth the crazy car bitch, he just told the HR department that contacted him to read the reports, as they spoke for themselves. |

Fair enough: the overwhelming majority of police officers are decent people who wish to do right. It was the actions of a few bad apples among them that brought the attention of the country to their use of lethal force. I'm sorry to hear about your husband, but just think that if he had been wearing a bodycam at the time, which is pretty much required now, said woman would have gotten her just desserts. Can't you then agree that BLM did some good in insisting law enforcement wear those things |

Re: USA - Dallas Youth Football Coach Executed On Field
It's one thing to have bad apples. It's another thing to have the entire leadership team of a supposed grass-roots support organization use the suffering of a group for personal enrichment, without providing the help they promised. So, you're saying it's ok to deliberately lie and mislead, as long as it furthers your agenda. Awesome. Yes, and now, BLM, the ACLU, and other organizations are fighting the use of cop cams in court, since they show, that in most cases, it's the perpetrators that become unreasonable and escalate the encounter. Again, it's okay to falsely portray yourself as a helpful organization, only to run away with the money without having helped anyone, since it gave "the cause" good coverage while the whole thing went down. |

Re: USA - Dallas Youth Football Coach Executed On Field
Once again, if those assertions are true then that is an issue for the government to take up. If those families feel that their funds were misappropriated, the legal system is there for them to take advantage of it. This won't be the first time someone has set up a GoFundMe under a false pretense and then been sued for lying. I'm saying that it's a given that people are gonna skim a little of the cream off the top for themselves. Look at all those televangelists with private jets. I don't see anyone suing THEM. FINALLY! I could French-kiss you for FINALLY providing something compelling among all these other losers. Got any sources to back this up, and I mean REAL sources, not the "ultra-conservative" or "ultra-liberal" or "fake news" media. Um yeah, BLM brought attention to the fact that police (again, let me emphasize, a few bad apples) were killing black suspects and giving crap reasons for doing so. This in turn shone a VERY bright spotlight on the police's use of lethal force, which pretty much benefits anyone who ever finds themselves in such a situation. |

Re: USA - Dallas Youth Football Coach Executed On Field
https://www.aclu.org/blog/privacy-te...-cameras-based It's one of several essays on the site regarding use of body cams. They're basically shifting their position to argue that their use, or the release of footage, can constitute a civil rights violation for the suspect. Playing devil's advocate, I'm sure there are body cam use policies that could use improvement, but the issue here is that accountability cuts both ways. The cameras hold both cops and suspects accountable, but the latter is somehow a problem now. Also, going back to your "skimming off the top" argument, there's a difference between shaking off the loose change and making a good living off it while running a nonprofit organization, and paying yourself, your family, your friends, buying property for personal use, and not using funds for their stated use. Personally, I think most nonprofits shouldn't be, and than includes BLM. |
