Well, most officers don’t get paid anywhere nearly enough to put up with the abuse and violent behavior they frequently encounter - and now - must respond courteously and politely. Lose your temper and lose your job and maybe a lawsuit too. A simple traffic stop for a busted tail light can be a matter of life and death. Great job, huh? (At least they’ll give you a funeral with honors.) Perhaps if officers were paid in accordance with the level of danger the job entails, and treated with a modicum of respect and compliance, they’d be inclined to do likewise and a higher caliber of humanity would consider careers in law enforcement. But treat and pay them like crap and you can expect the same. You get what you pay for.
