My mother co-owned a bar on Bourbon and Canal years ago, on this very road this happened on. Those streets are so narrow, those people had nowhere to go and nowhere to run. Absolutely awful I'm glad the police smoked the guy, terrorist POS. |

Like clockwork. Everyone planes immigrants and it ends up being a US citizen, born and raised. And a veteran, at that! Very common for domestic terrorists to be veterans.

Re: USA - 10+ Killed in New Orleans Truck Attack and Mass Shooting
Fair enough, the interpretation is a matter of opinion. We have different ones, that's all. I felt when sinead said 'Islam is not a religion' it was meant in the same way that if someone got sold a shitty cheeseburger and they said to the vendor 'that's not a burger'. It obviously is a burger just as Islam obviously is a religion. And Islam does differ notably from the other common religions in that it is a total belief system governing every aspect of a Muslim's life in a way no other modern religions do. It can best be described as a totalitarian ideology which also contains a religion within it. |

Not really. They (monotheistic faiths) all can be taken to such an extreme. But most people don't, including the vast majority who adhere to all three Abrahamic faiths. Millions of people follow Islam in this country and live perfectly normal lives. I know a few myself, and some are just aloof from the faith as your typical "Chreaster" Christian. *Chreaster is a slang term used in some Christian circles to refer to people who only attend church twice a year, at Christmas and Easter. |
