Re: US: Cop One-taps Seatbelt Violator...

This seems reasonable, what do you think?

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/do...-black-people/

This other study looks really interesting also.

https://www.manhattan-institute.org/...lice-shootings

None of them talk specifically about shooting dudes with guns, but they do dig into racial bias (or not) in police shootings.
I stopped trusting Snopes several years ago after they decided that instead of just stating the facts and confirming or refuting something, they decided to start editorializing within their work. It's just like Facebook, Twitter, etc...which use what they claim to be "objective fact-checkers". If you look at the people involved, they are rarely objective, unbiased, or apolitical.

As for the second, I do appreciate that the author acknowledges the unique history and relationship blacks in America have with law enforcement. As you pointed out, neither of these directly address subjects known to be armed at the time they are shot.

This is, as it always is, not really about white vs. black. It's about black vs. everybody else. No race or ethnicity in the United States has the adversarial relationship that black Americans have with police. No group has the deeply engrained "don't snitch" mantra that they live by. Nobody protects and shields criminals and criminal behavior more than blacks in America.

Black people are more likely to be shot than any other group because they don't act like any other group when interacting with police. They are treated differently...than every other group...because they behave differently...than every other group.

So...then it becomes a matter of what does that mean. Some believe it's racism...which conveniently overlooks the fact that many of these shootings, fatal or otherwise, of black people is done by black police officers. I believe it's mostly an appropriate response to observed behavior.

Re: US: Cop One-taps Seatbelt Violator...

Okay...so your friend pulled a gun a cop because he was going to get a measly ticket or at worst get a DUI...but you say "He wasn't aggressive" ?? Oh and the cop should also be fired for defending his life you say?? Dude, apparently you're still a little bit high...(Excellent text book shooting by the cop by the way) Props to him! Oh and one more thing to all you BLMers and all you white BLM ass-kissing douche bags...I guess your theory about how only black people get killed and white people never get killed by police is a total pile of Liberal bullshit....
Well said!

I actually agree with a lot of what you said! Regarding bias in Snopes etc, absolutely, everyone has bias whether they like it or not. I happen to believe self-awareness of that goes a long way but can’t erase it entirely. There’s nobody in the world who is completely impartial. All must be taken with a grain of salt but at the same time don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater.

To the point quoted above… I think you are right. It’s a response to behavior patterns. A good question then is why those patterns are so ingrained in Black culture. I don’t want to make excuses for the behaviors you cited, but it does seem that there are structural societal issues that feed into this which, if addressed, might bring the proportion (on a percentage basis) of black folks shot by cops to parity with white people.

Family and friends released balloons in memory of M.D. in an apparent attempt to kill as many native turtles and birds as possible.

Re: US: Cop One-taps Seatbelt Violator...

The fact that the cop only shot once also amazed me. I would have mag dumped all the bullets into him if I saw him pull out a gun like that. This was one confident cop, and even tho I’m usually no fan of coppers and how many of them act, I am very glad this cop got out alive and how he took care of that situation.

Re: US: Cop One-taps Seatbelt Violator...

Despite the fact that he pulled a gun on a police officer, Paige said he wasn't aggressive.

So you want MORE black people shot by cops?

Because cops kill more white people than black right now, you Snopes believing assclown...
