Check the bullet trajectory just before he shot. It very likely missed the vest. What a moron.  · |

In the course of my youthful misadventures, I saw the aftermath of an ANP officer taking a 9mm round to the helmet. It penetrated above the left temple, ricocheted off the opposing side near the right ear, and exited through the jaw. It was very effective in assuring he wouldn't survive. I also saw an example of the same model helmet that had taken 2 direct hits from an AK at 30 yards and stopped them both. The wearer had a concussion but recovered completely. I don't know if that is down to a quality control issue or situational ballistics effects of what. I was a signal officer and was usually armed with a laptop and rolly chair. I didn't even get a sidearm. In certain circumstances they would give me an MP5, which I pretended to know how to use. |
