A high school student was killed after being struck by a box truck while riding a motorcycle to school with a friend.

According to police, the box truck was travelling from Jambi toward Merlung. The truck driver attempted to overtake a vehicle in front by partially entering the right-hand lane, which is the oncoming lane.

At the same time, a motorcycle was coming from the opposite direction, causing the right side of the truck to collide with the motorcycle.

As a result of the collision, both students, who were on their way to school, were thrown several metres. Hayatun Nayla died as a result of the accident, while her friend, Nurhafidzah, suffered serious injuries.

That road looks treacherous with all those big trucks and riders going back and forth as proved by the following incident.

Not much protection riding motorbikes.

Sad. Not much you can do when a large vehicle like that decides it wants to be in your lane. Even a car would be in serious danger in that scenario.

must be in a stupid hurry to overtake a car(s) with all that oncoming traffic. He was in the opposite lane for a while judging by that car so the girls on the bike could have avoided a collision if they paid attention.

Same here! I thought she was a fucking fire hydrant until she turned after 20 seconds!
