Two Police Officers Killed in Shooting, Possible Case of Mistaken Identity
Medellín, Antioquia, Colombia Two investigators from Colombia’s judicial police - SIJIN - were shot dead while responding to a stolen vehicle report, in an incident that led to the arrest of an active-duty police officer and two civilians. The victims were identified as patrolman John A.Z.V., 26, and sub-intendente Yuly M.G.M., 38. The officers, both of whom were wearing civilian clothes, were attending a report of a stolen sedan in the Lorena neighbourhood when a sedan pulled up. Inside the sedan was a chief inspector with more than a decade of service, and two plainclothes men. Initial reports suggested a possible case of mistaken identity, with claims that the officer and civilians may have confused the officers for vehicle thieves. However, police officials said that version remains unclear. It is not known why the active-duty officer was present with the two armed civilians who exited a private sedan, although some sources reported that the two men were a merchant under the officer's protection, and the merchant's accomplice. John was shot dead, whilst one of the men - described as bald and of heavy build - chased Yuly down the street. I'm not sure, but I think I see the man's gun being discharged in the second video. Yuly disarmed herself, but was attacked, and died shortly afterwards. All three people in the sedan have been arrested. Authorities seized three firearms and several mobile devices. The investigation continued. |

One set of cops is working for the crooks. The other set of cops discovers them at work. Naughty words are then exchanged! |

The second video is pretty interesting. He doesn’t shoot her after their conversation and she’s still alive when he leaves the cameras view. When did she get shot and die!?! Interesting. |

Re: Two Police Officers Killed in Shooting, Possible Case of Mistaken Identity
The arrested Intendente Jefe, Jhon A.L.V who has a senior non-commissioned rank within the Executive Level, a sort of Master Sergeant or First Sergeant and sits directly above an Intendente and just below a Subcomisario, belongs to the Dignitary and Personal Protection Group. He was off-duty but was actively acting as an armed escort/protector for a local merchant who owned the targeted vehicle. The merchant's high-end SUV had previously been reported as stolen and was being tracked via an electronic GPS device. The merchant, accompanied by the Intendente Jefe and another civilian, tracked the vehicle's signal directly to the Lorena neighborhood. They found the stolen SUV parked and abandoned on the street just moments before the Sijín investigators arrived. They did not drive off in it with the thieves as they successfully tracked and intercepted it themselves. Because the Sijín officers, being the CID, were in civilian clothes, they approached the vehicle cautiously to inspect it. The merchants and the Intendente Jefe, sitting inside the dark car, looked out and saw armed, un-uniformed individuals surrounding them. They assumed the car thieves had returned to ambush them or reclaim the car. Believing he was protecting his client and reacting to an active crime, the Intendente Jefe drew his weapon and opened fire. The Sijín officers, believing they were being ambushed by cartel members or car thieves, fired back. The Prosecutor's Office is presenting the three men before a supervisory judge. They face preliminary charges of aggravated double homicide and illegal use of firearms. Defense will argue that the men acted without criminal intent, operating entirely under the false impression that they were defending themselves against active car thieves Investigators are analyzing the trajectories of the bullets to determine if the merchant also fired a weapon or if the Intendente Jefe fired all the fatal shots. Third vid first 2 secs shows a bullet hitting her at knee height but seems like her left hand was already bloodied so she was probably shot before that when they were close at the car. Wonder what she said to the guy chasing her as i'm sure she must have yelled police or something and i don't know if it's common to think for a protector that a female cartel member would come back to retrieve a stolen car but maybe he didn't believe her when she yelled i'm a cop. Off duty cops should always wear/show a badge on their belt or around their neck when they're about to engage in such activities but in those countries many police weapons and badges get stolen |
