You can't be completely strapped in because if a boat capsizes, you will drowned. Kindof like motorcycles not having seatbelts. It just doesn't make sense.

I know what you mean, the smaller boats, some have cockpits that detach completely on crashing, but probably more to do with them being pro speedboats....i think this could have been 2 guys out for a bit of fun, with their exspensive toy...
