You can comfort yourself with the fact that you cant drown in quicksand. Its heavier than your body, so you will float in it. I think you are more likely to simply suffocate in quicksand, after it dries up and the sand solidifies around you, than you are to drown in it.

Well, if you stayed in your own country, then USA would be populated with only native americans and noone else. US economy is almost entirely reliant on immigrants. Without immigrants, it would rapidly decend into a third world shithole country.
You are all immigrants over there. Pretty much every single one of you. And statistically, immigrants are less criminal than the average american precisely because they are immigrants, and every violation of the law can get them deported, so they stay out of trouble as much as possible.

PS: the only exceptions to this rule are muslim immigrants, whose beliefsystem is fundamentally incompatible with western values and who should indeed stay in their own countries, where they can live according to their religious laws.

These drownings happen very quickly, so no time to run to the truck and fetch a cooler. Attempting a swim-in rescue would be a death sentence. "People-chain" rescue attempts often result in additional vics too. Nothing one can do but hit record, really.

By the way, this vid is very likely witnessing a failed rescue attempt. Usually group drownings occur when one non-swimmer starts drowning, and other swimmers race in to rescue, only to be dragged under as well.
