Two Dead, and Heart Beating on Sidewalk, After Car Crashes Into Post
Happened in June this year, but only stumbled upon it the now. In Lipetsk, Russia, two young people were killed when the 24-year-old driver of a Daewoo Nexia, travelling at high speed, collided into a light post on the Oktyabrsky Bridge. The two fatalities, who were passengers in the Daewoo, were a 22-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman. The crash also tore the Daewoo into half, with the back half being found forty metres away from the crash site. Although the driver has been forgiven by the families of both victims, he faces up to seven years in prison. |

That picture of the woman standing there is pretty moving.

Can someone (possibly of medical profession) please clear up the following: How do these "heart-ejections" happen so frequently? ..Would have thought the heart was rather bolted into the body, given the arteries (etc?) attached to it. |

My Mom was an industrial nurse, and my Aunt was a Nursing Instructor at Marquette Medical School, and they both told me that the heart is held in place by a few arteries, and not much other connective tissue. Any high-G impact, and the arteries start tearing off. You may not even have an externally visible bruise. |

Crazy. If he was an organ donor his heart is good to go as it is, and seems to be a solid one by seeing it beat without any connection to the brain anymore.
