Re: Two Dead in Antipolo Jeep Crash
Antipolo crash? So what were they doing when they crashed? Conducting a protest against polo? They don't even play polo in the Philippines. Basketball yes, polo no.

Re: Two Dead in Antipolo Jeep Crash
It is indeed. I've ridden in more Jeepneys than I care to think about, not to mention buses in poor repair driven at high speeds on narrow roads around sharp curves. (e.g. Cebu City to Hagnaya). I just can't resist a play on words - I have compulsive punning syndrome.

Re: Two Dead in Antipolo Jeep Crash
I have been there several times. The "Jeepneys" are privately owned multi fare charter vehicles. I have ridden in them many times and most of the time they scared the shit outta me if I was sober. Those drivers make a lot of assumptions as to who will stop and who will not. During my service tour we were restricted from riding in them after several accidents and robberies.

Re: Two Dead in Antipolo Jeep Crash
i could still say its the government's fault for not being tighter in compliance requirements. here, you can get a professional driver's license without knowing how to drive. just get a student permit, wait 6 months, renew it as professional driver's permit. if they would be stricter on those things, life will be a bit bearable on the roads here. if its up to me, no vehicle sale to those who dont have garage for it and no driving license without really proving that you can drive... and you gotta take refreshment driving course at regular intervals too. These are not implemented so you can always see vehicles parked on narrow roads, you can see drivers, mostly public conveyance, who can even read or write and dont even know the road laws and signs. |

Re: Two Dead in Antipolo Jeep Crash
anything is a death weapon when used improperly. it all depends upon the application. even a handful of wet harmless tablenapkin can kill a person when shoved down the throat. anything is as dangerous or as safe as the one using it. and of course, if we judge everything by our own biased standards, then nothing will be good enough. human nature. |
