Re: Two Chops Beheading Like a Pro
I've always wondered if a decapitated head is still able to function briefly after separation, and is aware of it's surroundings, visually and/or audibly. This got me thinking: Since the head has been separated from the body, and thus the blood supply (oxygen) cut off, I believe a decapitated head could survive for as long as someone holding their breathe, after which the brain would begin to die from lack of oxygen. The problem is however, the sudden and dramatic loss of blood pressure would presumably cause the brain of the decapitated head to pass out/blackout immediately. If I am correct, the brain is still alive for several minutes yet unconscious. Edit: Did some further research, turns out the brain can survive for 4-6 minutes after heart stops, or in this case, head is separated from heart and rest of body altogether. |
