Two Army Sergeants Were Murdered - One Found Carbonized Inside Car
Nova Iguaçu, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil Two sergeants from the 25th Logistics Battalion of the Brazilian Army were brutally murdered near the site of the traditional Cassava Festival. According to initial reports, the soldiers were ambushed by criminals while in the parking area of the event. Sergeant Matheus d.S.S., 29, was found dead inside a burned-out car, his corpse having been carbonized. Sergeant Ricardo J.M.G., 24, was rescued by paramedics in critical condition. He had been shot in the leg, had burns all over his body (unofficial reports claim the burns covered 80% of his body), and was showing symptoms of smoke inhalation. He died of his injuries in hospital. According to people familiar with the victims, one of the sergeants had lent money to a corporal who was discharged from the Army at the end of 2024. After several attempts to collect the debt, the sergeant arranged to meet with his former colleague to try to settle the issue. However, what appeared to be a negotiation turned out to be a trap. According to reports, the former corporal had allegedly passed the sergeants’ location to militia members in the area. |
