I had the misfortune to program in the initial days of the infamous NT MFC (Microsoft foundation classes and Windows NT initial development as a beta tester) I had a subscription as a developer of Windows apps, I received a CD with updates every month which came with tons of modifications that forced you to re-code.
I still have the damned CDs in their jewel cases, also have a collection of old computers and software of my days of esoteric research, stuff that is better left alone, scary stuff.
I knew it... cool... in this case, it would be appropriate to use the term 'computer professional.'
