Trying to Revive Woman Who Died After Liposuction Procedure
42-year-old Jessica C.L. died after undergoing a liposuction procedure in Puerto Maldonado, southeastern Peru.

Jessica had begun to suffer adverse reactions almost immediately after having the surgery. The following day, she fell into cardiac arrest, and despite being rushed to hospital by paramedics, she was declared dead on arrival.

Jessica's doctor claimed that she suffered from "delayed anaphylactic shock" from one of the medications used in the procedure. The family, however, have denounced the doctor and clinic for medical negligence.

The doctor has been preliminarily arrested for "imprudence or failure to comply with regulations" that resulted in the death of a patient.
