Obama tried, but failed with "fast and the furious", an operation that sold a bunch of weapons (m16s, if I'm remembering correctly) to cartels in the hopes they could be tracked to find the bigger fish, but they quickly lost track of the guns, only to find out some of them were used to kill some FBI agents in a shootout later.  These cartels seem to have unlimited funds and can easily buy govt. officials off and kill the ones who refuse to cooperate. Shit's crazy, I have no clue how something like that could be stopped.  |
