Brazil, The truck driver who fled after running over and dragging 73-year-old G.A.F.D.O. for about 100 meters is an employee of the city's Hospital das Clínicas and presented himself to the Civil Police last Thursday. Former retailer GAFDO was hit by the truck and died on Wednesday night, the date of the accident. According to Hospital das Clínicas, the trucker has been a staff member since March 2020 and was transporting recyclables with the institution's truck at the time of the accident. In a statement, the hospital also regretted what happened, said that the employee is very shaken and that he will collaborate with the investigations. In addition, an internal investigation will be opened to investigate what happened. Last Thursday afternoon, the driver testified at the 4th Police District, in the south of the city. He was heard by a police chief, responsible for the case, and subsequently released. Images from security cameras show when the elderly person begins to cross the corner of the Boulevard when at the same time, the truck starts the maneuver to turn right and hits the elderly person on the side of the vehicle, who falls under the wheels. Trapped between the wheels, the man is dragged for about 100 meters when the driver notices the victim when alerted by other people. According to a lawyer, who helped with providing first aid, the man was conscious right after the accident and said he did not feel pain. He, however, was rescued with serious head injuries and did not resist. The truck's license plate was even noted by witnesses and reported to the police. The case is investigated by the 6th Police District as a wrongful bodily injury, when there is no intention, when driving a motor vehicle. |

I don’t understand how the truck driver didn’t stop after clearly running over someone! It’s possible he couldn’t see the man but the bumps from crushing his body should have at least made him check what happened? Idk |

If you look closely and slow it down, at 21 second mark, it looks like some of his clothes are wrapped around the trucks right front tire.

Well, the guy got stuck in the rear axle... The rear suspension of a truck like this is a multi leaf system. This type of suspension is usually very stiff, due to the weight of the cargo and also because the roads in Brazil are really bad. So it bounces a lot while driving... So I guess it's a bit hard to notice a difference in this situation... A very fucked up situation
