China. What i could make of it is that a truck driver unexpectedly came home and found his wife in bed with a guy so an argument arose between the two men. One version is that he was hiding in the closet and jumped from a window and the hubby chased him, poured gasoline over him and set him on fire. Other version is that the guy set light to the truck of the husband after the argument and in retaliation the trucker torched him. Anyway, he's dead.

It shocks me how sympathetic people can be for the husband (or the person getting cheated on in the situation).

1. you don't own another human so they are free to do what they want, even if they took a vow

2. it's the significant other who is doing the cheating, the affair partner just happens to be there.

I see it as weakness to get so worked up over it that you're willing to kill out of anger.

I never claimed "sympathy for the husband". Recognizing that testosterone-fueled jealous husbands might kill you if you fuck their wives isn't an attaboy for the murderous cuck, it's common sense.

So I guess the term "crime of passion" and "temporary insanity" - both viable and accepted pleas resulting in many not guilty verdicts - hold no water in your world?

Also, when you take a vow as such, you not only have a moral obligation but a legal obligation that you have entered into with an agreeing party. Violating that vow says a lot about one's character, exceptionally so in the case of an exclusive partnership, excluding open marriages and other non traditional relationships.

No one is anyone's "property" as the institution of slavery was abolished, not without considering human trafficking of today. But again, legal binding contract and moral obligation.

I don't know these people and I have no idea what kind of marriage they have, so I can't speak about their situation directly. But to say that marriage means that it's open season for infidelity or anything someone decides to do without their partner having knowledge of? Nah. That's not right. If that line of thinking is based on something that happened to you in some way, I'm very sorry, I am.

I don't even believe in marriage, personally, I think it's absurd. But more people than I believe whole-heartedly in it, and they choose to legally bind themselves to one another. And let me tell you, if I were married and after coming home to find my wife in bed with another man after I've sacrificed and sacrificed for her to be able to live that lifestyle? Well. There's no telling what someone in that position would be capable of.
