Yeah, I just saw this on live leak. Damn, what a terrible tragedy. Its a shame the trucker didn't try to ditch the truck before hand to potentially save other lives. But who knows, maybe he didn't know until he applied the brakes at the last second. That truck was at a very high rate of speed though. |

1.) likely had no clue brakes were bad, so the idea never crossed his mind until after the accident, if he did know, he was probably scared as hell and couldn't react in time ...which brings up... 2.) His rate of speed, failure to maintain or failure to provide records of maintenance on the truck, possible gross weight violations, and other road violations would be a possible reason for the criminal charges, given the location of this accident, he's lucky a mob didn't roast him alive, but then again he'll have to live the rest of his life with the blood of 27 innocent victims on his hands, can't imagine what kind of hell that would be |

Crazy. The guy's dashcam that caught all of that must feel kind of lucky.A couple more seconds and it could have been him.

I don't know how I could go on with life knowing I was responsible for so many deaths. Reminds me of the bus crash here in Ky that killed 27 kids on a school bus that was coming back from a church trip to Kings Island. The man that hit the bus was drunk though. He lived of course.  |
