Truck Causes Accident That Kills 22 People
A driver with Rock Solid Industries captured this horrific footage of a heavy goods truck plowing through five vehicles at a major intersection in Durban, South Africa.  The footage was captured by a camera on the dashboard. South African media confirmed that at least 22 people were killed and as many as 32 injured in the crash.  Investigations revealed that the truck’s brakes failed causing the driver to speed through the red light at a major intersection in Pinetown. The 23-year-old driver was arrested and charged with culpable homicide.  As many as 60 people have died in fatal road accidents over the past two weeks in South Africa. |

Authorities say 27 people were killed in a Thursday night car crash when an apparently out-of-control semi truck slammed into several cars at an intersection. The accident was caught on a dashcam. News24 reports that the driver of the truck has been charged with culpable homicide and reckless and negligent driving. Around 7 p.m. Thursday, the truck crashed into four full taxis and a Volkswagen Golf at the intersection of Fields Hill (M13) and Richmond roads in Pinetown. In total 27 people were killed, 24 at the scene and three at an area hospital. Investigators said the brakes failed on the truck, and prosecutors may seek to charge the trucking company as well. I always look both ways, even on a stale green. But I guess years of riding motorcycles has enlightened me...
