Once the train driver realises they may have struck someone, they slow down. That takes a while. Meanwhile, to us, it looks like a slow train. Slight digression: in the UK, the train driver needs to stop and walk back in the direction of the hit. Which, depending on the speed of the train could be a couple of miles. For a solitary driver, that is one looooong walk. Not knowing what's in store. Minor, survivable injuries; dead as a door norb;. or dying from horrific injuries and possibly still trying to talk. |

Fuck it..... shit's gotta get delivered. Here in the US they would have shut down the entire state, got a safe space for people and lined up some councilors & put the dog into rescue... All the while protesting safer crosswalks by trains. |
